- Not done The infobox is not set up to include this. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:21, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
- It should be listed anyways. He's the only owner to not feature this. Cramerwiki (talk) 18:20, 5 December 2024 (UTC)

"Greatest NFL player of all time"
[edit]Noting that @VadimFinneran has, 4 times now ([1], [2], [3], [4]), added text to list Brady as the greatest player of all time, as opposed to the greatest quarterback. I believe this is not appropriate, based on the fact comparing players across positions is quite difficult to quantify. Many also argue Jerry Rice, based on the gap between him and all other receivers, Lawrence Taylor based on his dominance, or Jim Brown based on leading the league in rushing 8 of his 9 years playing (including 5 in touchdowns). It's an incredibly difficult thing to quantify, and using Bleacher Report (not considered a reliable source) and a fan vote (from CBS Sports) to label him as such is inappropriate and WP:PUFFERY. Suggesting that we stick with something straight forward, as we have done for years now, and revert to the WP:Status quo/more WP:NPOV phrasing of "Brady is widely regarded as the greatest quaterback of all time", which used 9 references from a variety of sources. I do not want to edit war, as I've reverted them already, but they're refusing to communicate at this point, so I'm starting the discussion here. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:09, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- To be honest, even comparing QBs from different eras is hard to do. Sort of water cooler stuff that's not really encyclopedic unless maybe it's in a "legacy" section of a biography...never a lead section. Comparing greatest players is even more out there in the world of bars and burgers. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:28, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Couldn't agree more. It's why I typically prefer wording, when we have to insert something like this, as choosing "one of the greatest x position players". Leave some ambiguity because of the differences in eras. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:37, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- Rice's page says "For his accomplishments and numerous records, Rice is widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver of all time and one of the greatest players in NFL history" Maybe something like that could be used here. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 15:03, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- For the record, Bluerules restored it back to the longstanding "greatest quarterback".[5] There was no argument put forward in this discusssion in favor of "greatest player" wording, let alone any consensus in its favor. —Bagumba (talk) 07:02, 3 January 2025 (UTC)
Incorrect info regarding completions record
[edit]In the fourth paragraph of the overview, it says " He is the only NFL quarterback to have 600 passing touchdowns in the regular season. Brady holds regular and postseason records for completions." however the three sources cited only list playoff records, and no source linked indicates what regular season completion record Brady has. 65.25.221.119 (talk) 05:34, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
Correct all pros listed
[edit]Brady was a 1st team all pro in 2012 and 2016 from TSN. TSN is recognized by the NFL the same as AP. His page needs to correctly list his first team all pros. Farazsyed26 (talk) 16:48, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Farazsyed26: Do you have a reference that shows that The Sporting News selections are recognized in terms of, let's say, HoF candidacy? Hey man im josh (talk) 17:14, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- Also providing some sources that do seem to reflect that he was selected these years. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:17, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is a problem with all of the pages. People can never agree if the infobox should just be AP-only or if it should include other selectors. Years ago some of the infoboxes actually used to say "AP first-team All-Pro" I think instead of just "First-team All-Pro" but @Lizard the Wizard: (the goat) removed the selectors from the infoboxes. I've never really messed around with the All-Pros in the infoboxes that much because there's never been a firm consensus on how to do it. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:23, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- FWIW, the NFL's record book lists TSN and PFWA All-Pros too.[6] With few press agencies now and prominent free news sites using AP feeds, there might be an inflated impression of AP's standing. —Bagumba (talk) 06:11, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Re: HoF candidacy, Fouts' HOF page displays Pro Bowls. As for All-Pro, it calls him "an All-Pro choice in 1979, 1982, and 1985", which seems to correspond only to his 1st team selections, of which 1985 was by NEA only (AP was only 2nd team).[7] But then his profile page was not necessarily tied with his candidacy. I don't think there any "official" qualification list. —Bagumba (talk) 06:28, 17 January 2025 (UTC)

Number of Brady Patriot Super Bowl appearances is incorrect at 11, should be 9.
[edit]Change "Brady's successes helping the Patriots set the records for Super Bowl appearances (11) and wins" to "Brady's successes helping the Patriots set the records for Super Bowl appearances (9) and wins" RealityDistrict9 (talk) 16:27, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- Article is correct. The Patriots have been to 11 Super Bowls. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 17:55, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
